China Huawei Technology Corp. (NYSE: Huawei) today announced its 2012 business results with a combined revenue of $ 75.1 billion, up 32%. In particular, the phone segment earned $ 25.9 billion in revenue with 139 million smartphones sold worldwide, up 44%.

Huawei's revenue structure now comes from three main areas: telecommunications infrastructure, enterprise solutions, and consumer business. Of which, telecommunications infrastructure and consumer business are the two main areas.

In 2016, Huawei's telecom infrastructure segment achieved $ 41.8 billion in revenue, a 24% increase over the previous year. The enterprise segment, though, only accounted for $ 5.9 billion in revenue for Huawei in 2016, but the highest growth category, 47%.

Although key areas have high sales growth, Huawei's net profit margin is modest. In 2016, the firm posted a net profit of $ 5.3 billion with growth of only 0.4%.
Remarkably, Huawei continues to invest heavily in research and development. R & D spending hit $ 11 billion last year, accounting for a large proportion of the company's total revenue.
