All computers running Windows 10 will be able to receive creators updates. However, the phone model is not so lucky.

Recently, Microsoft has announced that only a few Windows Mobile 10 devices will receive a Creators Update when it ships. Of course, the majority of this list is the company's Lumia phones, including smartphones from Lumia 550 and up. In addition, some third-party phones also receive this update, such as Alcatel Idol 3S, HP Elite X2, and VAIO Phone Biz.

Engadget said that Microsoft's reason for wanting to ensure performance. Microsoft representative explained that old phones would not have "the best performance possible". In other words, Winndows 10 Mobile has to be optimized for the latest hardware. Users will still be able to update Creators Update on non-supported hardware devices (if any), but this representative indicates that running the new operating system will pose unreasonable risks.

This is a bad Microsoft tradition on Windows Phone devices. Previously, when updating Windows Phone 8, they abandoned Windows Phone 7 devices are too old. Another example is that some Windows Phone 8 devices can not update to the Windows Phone 10.
