Intel has introduced a 375 GB SSD that can be used as RAM.

Back in 2015, we saw Intel and Micron launch Xpoint 3D memory. Both companies claim that Xpoint Memory 3D memory will be 1,000 times faster than modern SSDs. This memory is advertised which can be used as system memory (RAM).
According to TechViral , this means that this hard drive can replace both SSD and RAM on personal computers . At that time, Intel claimed that 3D Xpoint Memory was a significant breakthrough in the field of storage. And now, based on this ultra-fast 3D storage technology, Intel introduced the Optane SSD DC P4800X.
The Optano SSD DC P4800X is a 375 GB solid state drive designed for NVMe and PCI Express slots on the server. This is a product focused on Datacenters with fast read / write speeds, low latency and special can be used as RAM.
Intel claims that this is the first "product to combine the attributes of system memory and storage memory" and this is the SSD that meets the needs of the storage center. Here are the specifications of Optane SSD DC P4800X:
Currently the product has started to sell in limited quantities for $ 1520 (34.5 million). According to Ars Technica : "In the second quarter, a 750GB PCIe version and a 375GB version of the U2 will be released, and by the end of the year, 1.5TB, 750GB, and 1.5TB U.2 versions of PCIe. Will also be on the shelves ".
