LG has confirmed they will officially launch LG Pay mobile payment service in June.
To keep up with leading names in the smartphone industry such as Apple or Samsung, LG Electronics said today it is also preparing to introduce its own mobile payment service. This new service will launch in June in Korea as LG Pay.
According to Yonhap News , South Korea's largest mobile phone maker, the company has partnered with US-based Dynamics Inc, a company that designs and manufactures smart payment cards and batteries for payment cards.
LG Pay will use Dynamics' Wireless Magnetic Communication technology, which will allow LG smartphones to work with credit card payment terminals.
Website PhoneArena said LG's service will have operational mechanisms similar to Samsung Pay. That means you just touch your LG smartphone on the terminal payment terminal when making a purchase.
The LG G6 will be the first phone to support LG Pay. LG says its other smartphones will support the service after updates to be released by the company in the second half of 2017.
It is unclear whether customers pay when using LG Pay or whether it is widely available in many markets such as Samsung Pay or Appla Pay or not?
