Vaio is no longer owned by Sony, so when this brand launches a Vaio Phone A smartphone also means they will compete directly with Sony in the mobile market.
In 2014, after a long period of losses, Sony decided to resell the Vaio brand that made the name for its laptops. I do not know if Sony is regretting this decision when Vaio is launching an Android phone called Vaio Phone A and will likely compete fiercely with Sony's Xperia lineup (less Especially in the Japanese home market).
Before Vaio Phone A, Vaio also launched a similar design smartphone in February last year as Vaio Phone Biz. The difference is that Google's Phone A running Android, then Phone Biz backed Microsoft's Windows 10.
With Phone A, Vaio can compete directly with Sony's mobile division (12% of Japan's mobile market). In Japan, Sony ranks second in the mobile market, behind Apple (47% market share).
Different from Phone Biz, Phone A supports up to 2 SIM slots. The configuration includes a 5.5-inch Full-HD display, a Snapdragon 617 processor, a 13MP camera and a 2800 mAh battery. It is not known in the Japanese market, Vaio Phone A is released in other markets around the world or not?
